2025 Eureka Australia Democracy Award Dinner
H.E. Ambassador Fiona Flood had the pleasure of attending annual Eureka Australia Democracy Award Dinner on Saturday 29 November 2025 where she was one of the guest speakers. This year’s Eureka Australia Democracy Award was presented to the Hon. Malcolm Turnbull AC, Australia’s 29th Prime Minister, for his advocacy for Australia’s liberal democracy and commitment to a rules based international order. The Eureka Democracy Award celebrates the legacy of the miners at Eureka Stockade who fought to defend their rights and liberties. A historic event that played a major role in the development of Australia’s political system and attitudes towards democracy and equality. With thanks to Eric Howard, the President of the Eureka Australia Descendants and Supporters organisation for the invitation, please see the full text of Ambassador’s remarks at the Eureka Australia Democracy Award Dinner as per following:
