Biography
Lorraine Christian was appointed Consul General of Ireland to Sydney, with accreditation to the State of New South Wales, in August 2025. Lorraine is originally from Dublin.
Lorraine obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree (Geography and Sociology) and her Master of Arts degree in Geography from NUI Maynooth.
Lorraine joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in 1999 and has served in Helsinki, New York and Brussels. Prior to her appointment as Consul General in Sydney, she served as Private Secretary to Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Micheál Martin, T.D. and also Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Simon Harris, T.D.
Lorraine is accompanied in Sydney by her husband and three children.
