My name is Barbara Cullinane, and I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed as Ireland’s Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the International Organisations in Vienna.

Ich heiße Barbara Cullinane und ich habe die Ehre und Freude, zur Botschafterin von Irland und Ständige Vertreterin Irlands bei den Internationalen Organisationen in Wien ernannt worden zu sein.

I lead a dedicated team at the Irish Embassy who are working hard to promote Ireland’s interests in Austria, strengthening our relationship with Austria and its people, providing consular services and support to our vibrant Irish community here, and promoting Ireland’s foreign policy interests and values at the International Organisations here in Vienna.

Ireland’s links to Austria, sustained today through our community, trade, cultural, sporting and academic connections, are deep-rooted. Along with my colleagues at the Embassy, I look forward to working with our community here to take them from strength to strength.

Working with our partners at the United Nations, IAEA, CTBTO and UNIDO, we will ensure that Ireland’s voice is heard in these important fora where the international community comes together to progress issues of global importance, ranging from reducing the risk of nuclear proliferation and armed conflict, to promoting sustainable development, to countering the dangers of drugs, organised crime and corruption.
