Consul General of Ireland in São Paulo
Robert Jackson
Welcome message
Welcome to the Website of the Consulate General in São Paulo.
It is an honour to represent Ireland in São Paulo as Consul General and together with my colleague, Deputy Consul General Niamh Casey, we greatly value the backing we receive from the Irish community and all friends of Ireland in the region.
The opening of the Consulate General in 2018 demonstrates the deepening of the relationship between Brazil and Ireland and our commitment to the future of this partnership. The launch in 2022 of Ireland’s Strategy for Latin America and the Caribbean to 2025 demonstrates our intention to explore new and smarter ways to work with Brazil and the region. Political, economic, cultural and people-to-people exchanges will be at the heart of our efforts as we build new connections between our two nations, which benefit both our peoples.
Together with our great team in the Consulate, we will work hard to further develop these connections, old and new, as well as providing services to Irish citizens, across the seven states in the South and Southeast region of Brazil – São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and Espírito Santo – for which the Consulate has responsibility. We often arrange cultural and social events for our Irish community. If you would like to be added to our database to attend these events, please contact us here.
We work closely with the Embassy of Ireland in Brasilia, where Ambassador Fiona Flood leads efforts to promote and protect Ireland’s interests in Brazil.
We also work closely with the State Agencies, including Enterprise Ireland, whose regional headquarters are based in here in Ireland House in São Paulo, as part of Team Ireland’s collective work to advance Ireland’s commercial and promotional interests.
This website including and our social media, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, will provide you with information about our activities here in Brazil, information about Ireland and details on how to contact us.
I look forward to meeting many of you here in Brazil over the coming period and I would very much welcome your ideas for potential collaboration so please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
Muito obrigado - Thank you - Go raibh maith agat.
