Consul General of Ireland in Shanghai

Welcome to the website of the Consulate General of Ireland in Shanghai.

The Consulate General supports Irish citizens and promotes Ireland's interests in Shanghai and the four surrounding Provinces – Anhui, Jiangsu, Jiangxi and Zhejiang. Our office is part of the new Ireland House in Jing'an district in Shanghai, and we are co-located together with IDA Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, Bord Bia, and Tourism Ireland.

Irish citizens resident in the region are encouraged to register with us through this portal on the website of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Ireland has a dynamic relationship with the provinces in East China across trade, education and cultural areas. Along with the state agencies, we work with business, higher education institutes, and cultural organisations in promoting links.

New arrivals will receive a warm welcome from the Consulate and from Irish citizens throughout the region, in particular active GAA (Irish sports) clubs in Shanghai and Suzhou, Le Chéile (the Irish community organisation in Shanghai), and the Irish Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. If you have difficulty getting in contact with any of the above, please contact the Consulate and we can help.
