Brigidsfest 2026 – Authors on Tour
Brigidsfest is the Irish literary festival hosted yearly at the Embassy of Ireland in partnership with Literature Ireland. In 2026, the participating authors will go on tour, with events at Ireland's Consulates General in Munich and Frankfurt and the Embassy in Berlin.

32nd Oldenburg Film Festival shines a spotlight on Irish cinema, including World Premiere of Jason Byrne and Kevin Treacy's Crazy Love
On 10 September, Ambassador Collins will deliver opening remarks at the opening ceremony of the 32nd edition of the Oldenburg Film Festival. The festival, which takes place from 10-14 September, which will highlight Irish cinema. This year, there are four Irish films in the line-up including three Fis Éireann/Screen Ireland supported features. A special reception to mark the significant Irish presence at the festival will take place ahead of the films’ screenings.

Ambassador Collins visits Bad Lippspringe
Ambassador Maeve Collins was among the guests of honour at Bad Lippspringe's 2025 Schützenfest. Bad Lippspringe in North Rhine-Westphalia has been twinned with the Irish town of Newbridge since 1997.

Tánaiste Simon Harris T.D. visits Berlin
On 4 July 2025, Tánaiste, Minister for Foreign Affairs & Trade and Minister for Defence Simon Harris TD visited Berlin for a number of political meetings and engagements, including with his counterpart, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul
