Consulate Accessibility

The Consulate is located in a Grade A listed property and is approximately 200 years old. The building has significant external and internal access issues, therefore prospective visitors should consider the following prior to visiting the building:

  • There are 7 steps up to the main entrance door from the pavement on Randolph Crescent.
  • There are 11 steps down to the lower ground floor entrance door from the pavement on Randolph Crescent.
  • There is a further 3 steps internally within the entrance lobby on route to the public reception point.
  • There are no internal passenger lifts and therefore internal access between floors is via stairs only.
  • There is toilet provision for those attending Consulate events, however these are not fully accessible currently due to the building's constraints.

The Consulate continues to make improvements to accessibility where possible. Despite these restrictions, we are able to provide our range of services in alternative ways, therefore any visitor who may be affected by the access restrictions should contact the Consulate to discuss how we can assist.
