Opening hours

The Embassy is open to the public Monday to Friday during the hours of 09:30 - 13:00 and 14:30 - 16:30.

General consular services will be by appointment only. Please do not visit the Embassy without an appointment. You can book an appointment via email or by phone (+36 1301 4960). The only exception to this will be for consular emergencies.

For consular emergencies for Irish citizens only outside working hours please call the Embassy on +36 1301 4960 and leave a voicemail - with your name and phone number - which is monitored by the Duty Officer. Alternatively you can call the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin on +353 1 408 2000.

The Embassy is located in central Budapest (District V.), on the Pest side of the river, near St. Stephen's Basilica and off Szabadság tér.

The Embassy can be reached on foot, or by public transport, including by metro:

BLUE Line (metro no. 3).
Get off at Arany Janos station and walk along the Arany Janos utca (street) until you reach the Bank Center (modern glass building on your right).

On the RED Line (metro no.2).
Get off at Deak Ferenc station and walk along Bajcsy Zsilinszky Avenue, then turn left and walk along Arany Janos utca (street) until you reach the Bank Center (modern glass building on your right).
