Meet COO of Copenhagen Fashion Week: Isabella Rose Davey
In the summer of 2024, Isabella Rose Davey took up her role as Chief Operating Officer at Copenhagen Fashion Week.
A year on, we sat down with Davey and chatted with her about how Ireland influences her work, how she ended up in Copenhagen and the things that have shaped her successful career in the fashion industry.
Born in England, and raised initially in Australia, Davey’s family then moved to Dolphin’s Barn in Dublin, Ireland. Having completed her secondary education in Dublin, she studied Art History and Architecture, and Classical Studies at Trinity College Dublin while working in a number of boutiques across the city, including Om Diva Boutique on Drury Street where she worked for four years.
This experience growing up in Ireland left a lasting impression on Davey: “I am still very much connected to there [Ireland]… There is a lot to be said for what you can take from living and being part of the Irish community. They are incredibly supportive and proud of those that have made it in various industries,' she says.
I really appreciate the recognition and the continued connection that Ireland has built… Ireland fosters a desire to remain connected.”
Before joining Copenhagen Fashion Week, Davey worked for the British Fashion Council where she helped to create the London Fashion Week Schedule. She has also worked as a creative consultant, a contributing writer at British Vogue and Vogue Scandinavia, and she has guest lectured at a number of universities including Technological University Dublin, the National College of Art and Design Ireland, Royal College of Arts London, Porto Business School and Kings College Cambridge.
