Ireland For Finance

The strategy for the development of Ireland’s international financial services sector, extended to 2026.

‘Ireland for Finance’ is the whole-of-Government strategy for the development of the international financial services sector, which is delivered through public-private sector collaboration.

The ‘Ireland for Finance’ strategy supports Ireland to continue to be a top-tier location of choice for specialist international financial services firms.

Over the last 40 years, Ireland has built a well-regarded, specialist international financial services sector. It is home to approximately 600 international financial services companies and 60,100 employees — representing a 50% increase in jobs since 2015.

Ireland is home to some of the world’s largest international financial services companies in sub-sectors such as banking, funds, asset management and investment, insurance and reinsurance, fintech, and aircraft leasing.

Ireland is the third largest domicile for investment funds with €4.5 trillion worth of assets under management, and approximately 70% of European Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) domiciled in Ireland. Exports from the Irish financial services and fintech sector reached €22 billion in 2023.

Ireland is an attractive location for international financial services because of our status as an English speaking member of the EU with access to the EU Single Market, access to EU talent and the Common Travel Area. Our pro-business environment is further underpinned by a stable tax regime, a highly educated and skilled workforce, and an internationally respected financial services regulator in the Central Bank of Ireland.
