Gaelic Games - GAA around the world

Sport is ingrained in Irish culture.

Our traditional and ancient sports of Gaelic football, hurling and camogie are among the most popular played across the country, and around the world. These are alongside other Gaelic sports you may not have realised had an Irish connection: Gaelic handball and rounders.

Founded in 1884, the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), is the sporting body that promotes the indigenous Gaelic games.

GAA is played in Irish communities in every corner of the globe, with over 500 GAA clubs overseas.
