The personal data is being collected/processed for the purpose of allowing the Department to contact Registered Citizens in the event of a Consular Crisis in their area of travel.
Lawful basis
Consular Directorate’s legal basis for processing the personal data of subscribers is provided for by the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations 1963.

No data is transferred outside of the EU.
Retention Period
The data provided by citizens to the Department is retained for as long as the citizen remains on the register. After this time it will no longer be retained.

Crisis Management Unit do not receive information from Third Parties.
